Deeper Roots Candle Co. was founded in 2023 by Lisa and Jeff as a way to tell our family's story through fragrance.

The name Deeper Roots comes from the saying, "storms make trees take deeper roots." Like many families, we have weathered our share of difficult seasons, including a cancer diagnosis and the unexpected end of a twenty-year career. While those experiences were challenging, they strengthened our family and deepened the bonds that connect us.

What began as a creative outlet and a way to supplement our income soon became something more meaningful—a way to honor the people, places, and memories that shaped our lives.

Every Fragrance Has A Story

Unlike many fragrance brands, we don't start with scent notes.

We start with a story.

The fragrances in our collection are inspired by family members, cherished traditions, meaningful places, and unforgettable moments. From Long Walk and Quiet Evening to Dreamer and Lotta Sap, each fragrance reflects a memory worth preserving and sharing.

Our hope is that these fragrances do more than simply scent a room. We hope they remind you of someone you love, a place you've been, or a moment you'd like to experience again.

Meet Lisa & Jeff

Lisa is the creative force behind Deeper Roots. After spending years serving others as a social worker, she brings the same care, compassion, and attention to detail into every fragrance she creates. A lifelong candle lover, she thoughtfully develops each scent to evoke a feeling, memory, or experience.

Jeff brings more than twenty years of small-business experience to the company and helps guide the day-to-day operations that keep everything running smoothly. Together, we combine creativity, craftsmanship, and a shared commitment to building something meaningful for our family and our community.

Proudly Rooted in Eastern NC

Both of us were raised in Eastern North Carolina, and it's a place we're proud to call home. Many of our fragrances draw inspiration from the people, traditions, landscapes, and small-town experiences that make this region special.

Whether it's the scent of honeysuckle drifting along a country road, memories of tobacco barns dotting the landscape, or family gatherings along the Crystal Coast, our roots are woven into everything we create.
