Why Deeper Roots?

The name Deeper Roots comes from the saying “storms make trees take deeper roots”.  Our family weathered a few storms in the last few years; including cancer and the sudden loss of a 20-year career.  These storms led our family to grow deeper roots and strengthened our bonds with each other.  After coming out on the other side of these storms, we started this business as a creative outlet, to supplement our income, and to honor our family.  Each candle in our original collection was specifically curated and named with a different family member in mind. Each candle is a custom blend of fragrances that we hope will remind you of your family, or maybe take you back to a sweet time in your life. 

Meet Lisa and Jeff

Lisa, our candle maker and creator, has a rich background in serving the public as a social worker. Her commitment to helping others find joy in life shines through in every candle she crafts. An avid candle lover herself, Lisa pours her heart into each creation, ensuring that every candle is a unique blend of soothing scents and high-quality ingredients.

Jeff brings over 20 years of experience in small business to Deeper Roots Candle Co. His expertise in business operations allows Lisa to focus on what she does best—making exceptional candles. Together, Lisa and Jeff form a dynamic duo dedicated to providing you with candles that not only fill your home with joy but also uplift your spirit.

Both Lisa and Jeff were raised in Eastern North Carolina, and this has always been our home. We are proud to be a part of the Eastern NC community as a local business.
