Follow these tips to get the most enjoyment from your Deeper Roots candle!
- Burn your candle for 1 hour per inch of diameter.
- For your first burn, make sure you get a complete melt pool (edge to edge of melted wax). This may sometimes require a little longer than the 1 hour per inch rule.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended!
- Avoid burning under a ceiling fan.
- Make sure you keep your wicks trimmed to between ¼” to ½”.
- If your wick “mushrooms”, you can simply trim it off. Make sure you keep your wicks trimmed to between ¼” to ½” and avoid getting debris in the melt pool.
- If your wick leans to one side while burning, this is normal but you can straighten it to help ensure an even burn.
- To extinguish your candle, use a snuffer or dip the wick into the melt pool and then re-straighten. This method will also help prevent soot and smoke.
- Once your candle cools following a burn, you may notice bumpiness on the top surface of the wax. This is normal and is a characteristic of using natural waxes.
- Don’t burn all of the wax out of your candle, as this can overheat the jar. To prevent risk of breakage, stop burning your candle once there is ¼” to ½” inch of wax remaining in the bottom.
- Clean out any remaining wax and soak your jar in warm soapy water. You can then remove the wick, wash jar, and reuse your beautiful container!
